Tonight saw a speaker that most of us have been really looking forward to, Wil Cheung with his “Chasing the Aurora” talk. Wow! What a fantastic night we had! What this guy doesn’t know about the aurora and the night sky is not worth knowing!!! Wil told us all about how auroras occur in layman’s terms, and explained that the various groups that predict it are up against so many factors that affect seeing it, the moon, the solar wind, the sunspots to name but a few! He showed us some of his images and told us about his messaging service, so if you’re interested, give him a follow on SM. I don’t think it will be too long before we see Wil return, and tell us more of what he’s been up to.
