Selection Evening for the South Tyne Print Competition. Tuesday 4th October.
This week we decided which 10 images we would put forward for the South Tyne Print Competition. This is an inter-club competition, held between the 6 clubs in our area, Gateshead, Hexham, Ryton, South Shields, Whickham and Winlaton.
Each club enters 10 prints, and each print is scored with a mark out of 30 points. The marks are added up, and the winning club scores the highest mark. There is a trophy awarded for the winning club, and also a trophy for the highest scoring print. This was won last year by our very own Mandy Hedley, with her print “The Viking” which scored the top 30 marks, and she was presented with the winner’s trophy by Barry and Vera, who were the only members allowed to attend, as we were in lockdown through Covid.
Let’s hope we have the same luck this year with our entries, and great to see that our new members, Mark, Colin and Paul have images chosen to be entered too!
